‘Super 40’ launched in Rohtak to power govt school students towards JEE, NEET & NDA

Rohtak: In a major push to make competitive exam preparation accessible to government school students, education minister Mahipal Dhanda on Monday launched the new session of the ‘Super 40’ programme in Rohtak, calling it a “transformational model in public education.”The initiative, aimed at providing high-quality coaching for JEE, NEET and NDA aspirants, was launched at government girls senior secondary school on Hisar road here. On the occasion, minister Dhanda announced a grant of ₹5 lakh from his discretionary fund to strengthen infrastructure and academic support under the programme.Highlighting the state’s commitment to equitable education, the minister said no child should be deprived of opportunities due to lack of resources. “Students of government schools are second to none. With the right guidance, discipline and consistent effort, they can achieve any goal,” he said after interacting with the first batch of students and reviewing feedback from a recent crash course.Designed to bridge the gap between government and private education systems, Super 40 offers structured coaching, experienced faculty drawn from government schools, and a competitive learning environment with regular assessments. The programme ensures that meritorious students receive preparation comparable to leading private coaching institutes.Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta said the initiative draws inspiration from Haryana’s flagship ‘Super 100’ programme but expands its reach to include a wider pool of students. “Super 40 is about inclusion and opportunity. We are bringing quality coaching within the government school ecosystem so that talent is not limited by access,” he said. The programme is set to expand further with a structured one-year course for classes 11 and 12, along with a two-year phased preparation model focusing on NCERT-based conceptual clarity, regular testing and performance tracking. With a clear focus on preparing students for premier institutions such as IITs, AIIMS and the National Defence Academy, officials believe the initiative will also challenge the perception that quality competitive coaching is limited to private institutions.Calling it a systemic shift, Gupta said the aim is to make government schooling synonymous with excellence and competitiveness, ensuring that opportunity reaches the last mile.
