NTPC Limited releases recruitment notification for assistant officer and engineer posts

NTPC Limited has invited applications for 45 vacancies under two separate recruitment advertisements for environment management and contracts and materials positions. The company has released detailed eligibility criteria, vacancy distribution, age limits and selection procedures for both recruitments.The vacancies include 20 posts for Assistant Officer in Environment Management and 25 posts for Engineer in Contracts and Materials. The recruitment drive is part of NTPC’s expansion plans as the company aims to increase its installed capacity from 89 GW to 149 GW by 2032.Assistant officer vacancies in environment managementUnder Advertisement No. 06A/26, NTPC has announced 20 vacancies for the post of Assistant Officer in Environment Management. Candidates applying for the post must hold a graduate engineering degree in environment with at least 60 per cent marks.Applicants with a graduate degree and a postgraduate qualification in Environment Engineering, Environment Science or Environmental Management are also eligible, provided they have secured at least 60 per cent marks from a recognised university or institution.The upper age limit for the post is 30 years. Selected candidates will be placed in the E0 grade with a pay scale of Rs. 30,000 to Rs. 1,20,000.According to the vacancy distribution, eight posts are reserved for the unreserved category, two for EWS candidates, five for SC candidates, three for ST candidates and two for OBC candidates.Engineer recruitment announced for contracts and materials divisionUnder Advertisement No. 06B/26, NTPC has invited applications for 25 Engineer posts in Contracts and Materials. Candidates must possess a B.E. or B.Tech degree in Electrical, Electrical and Electronics, Mechanical, Production, Electronics, Control and Instrumentation, Instrumentation or Civil Engineering with at least 60 per cent marks.The notification states that candidates with MBA or PGDBM qualifications in Materials Management, Supply Chain Management, Logistics and Supply Chain Management or Operations Management will receive added preference.Applicants are also required to have a minimum of four years of post-qualification executive experience in the power, oil, gas or steel sector. Out of the total experience, at least two years should be in contracts, purchase, stores or procurement-related work.The maximum age limit for the engineer post is 32 years. Selected candidates will receive pay under the E2 grade with a salary scale of Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 1,60,000.The category-wise breakup includes 13 vacancies for the unreserved category, two for EWS, six for SC, three for ST and one for OBC candidates.Selection process and reservation detailsNTPC stated that the selection process may include application screening, written or computer-based tests and personal interviews, depending on organisational requirements.For positions involving both written examination and interview, the final merit will be prepared with 85 per cent weightage for the online written test and 15 per cent weightage for interview performance. Candidates will have to qualify separately in both stages.The company has also confirmed that reservation for PwBD candidates will be applicable according to government guidelines. Relaxation in upper age limits will be provided to SC, ST, OBC, PwBD and ex-servicemen candidates as per existing rules.Medical examination and eligibility conditionsThe recruitment notifications specify that selected candidates must undergo medical examination by the NTPC Medical Board or authorised medical officers before joining. The decision of the medical board will remain final and binding.NTPC has stated that only Indian nationals are eligible to apply and all qualifications must be obtained through full-time courses from recognised institutions approved in India. The company also noted that the total number of vacancies may increase or decrease depending on organisational requirements.
