Wipro sounds out graduates for full-time positions

BENGALURU: Wipro has emailed fresh graduates hired under its Work Integrated Learning Programme (WILP), asking whether they would like to transition to regular employment. People aware of developments attributed the move to urgent project ramp-ups, prompting the company to onboard talent sooner.WILP offers fresh BCA and BSc graduates an opportunity to begin their careers while pursuing a fully sponsored MTech degree. The programme combines academic learning with hands-on industry experience, enabling participants to build practical skills as they enter the workforce.TOI reviewed an email sent to a WILP candidate that stated, “You previously accepted an LOI (letter of intent) for the WILP programme. Based on your profile and our recent interaction, you are now being considered for a non-WILP role, which comes with a different compensation structure and employment agreement.”Candidates must pass both Class 10 and Class 12, with qualifications obtained through open schooling or distance education also accepted. For graduation, applicants are required to secure a minimum of 60% marks or a 6 CGPA, in line with university guidelines.Under the WILP programme, candidates receive a monthly stipend starting at Rs 15,000 in the 1st year, along with a joining bonus of Rs 75,000.The stipend rises to Rs 23,000 per month by the 4th year, and upon successful completion, participants are offered an annual salary of around Rs 6 lakh.
