Vijay Sethupathi recently confirmed that he has several interesting projects lined up with well-known filmmakers. During a recent interview with Galatta Plus, he spoke about working with acclaimed director Mani Ratnam, saying the filmmaker works very quickly and with great clarity. The actor mentioned that he is eager to spend time understanding the script and preparing for the project. He also mentioned his work with director Thiagarajan Kumararaja for the movie ‘Pocket Novel.’ Vijay Sethupathi says he is comfortable with Kumararaja as a director and notes that Kumararaja is very conscientious, encouraging and excels in every department.
Several films and web series in the pipeline
Apart from these collaborations, Vijay Sethupathi has a number of projects in different stages of production. He will next be seen in the movie ‘Slum Dog: 33 Temple Road,’ directed by Puri Jagannadh, which is slated to be a pan-Indian film. The actor will also appear in the web series ‘Muthu Engira Kaattaan,’ directed by Manikandan, which is set to stream on a popular platform. In addition, he is acting in the film ‘Train,’ directed by Mysskin.
Possible sequel and future projects excite fans
Another exciting development is the possible sequel to Vijay Sethupathi’s hit film ‘Maharaja.’ Directed by Nithilan Saminathan, the 2024 release transformed into a blockbuster. The actor, Vijay Sethupathi, recently stated that the director has completed writing the script for the sequel and that he cannot wait to listen to it soon. In a conversation with Galatta Plus, Vijay Sethupathi said, “Director Nithilan Saminathan has completed the script for Maharaja 2. I’m excited to hear it soon.”Vijay Sethupathi was last seen in the silent film, ‘Gandhi Talks’ with Arvind Swamy and Aditi Rao Hydari.
