‘The Pitt’, the critically acclaimed medical drama that has been drawing strong viewership since its debut, is heading into its third season with some exciting new details now confirmed. The show, which follows frontline healthcare professionals navigating real-time emergencies at a fictional Pittsburgh trauma centre, has built a dedicated fanbase through its grounded and intense storytelling. Season 3 is set to continue that tradition, this time against the backdrop of early November, bringing with it a whole new set of holiday-driven storylines and complications.Stars Noah Wyle and Katherine LaNasa made a special appearance at an industry event to share the news directly with fans. “We’re about to start production on Season 3,” Wyle shared. “It’s set in early November, just before the holidays, ushering in a whole new set of emergencies and confrontations and complications.”

When is ‘The Pitt’ Season 3 set and what holidays could feature?

While Wyle was not specific about which November holidays he was referring to, there are two possibilities, Veterans Day on November 11 and Thanksgiving on November 26. Veterans have been a significant part of ‘The Pitt’s storylines across multiple characters, including Shawn Hatosy’s Dr. Jack Abbot and Season 2 newcomer Sepideh Moafi’s Dr. Baran Al-Hashimi. Season 2 also introduced the character of Duke Ekins, played by Jeff Kober, an old friend of Dr. Robby’s who is also a veteran. Given the show’s history with veteran storylines, Veterans Day remains very much in play alongside Thanksgiving.For context, Season 2 of the show was set over Fourth of July Weekend, with each season using a specific holiday period to frame its real-time storytelling format.

When does ‘The Pitt’ Season 3 premiere and how many episodes will there be?

Executive producer and director John Wells confirmed that production on Season 3 will begin in June. “We will be back in production in June, and plan to be back on the air again the same week in January with 15 episodes next year,” Wells said. Work on the writers’ room for Season 3 had already begun back in March.
