‘The Batman: Part II’: Matt Reeves CONFIRMS Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan and Charles Dance as new additions to Robert Pattinson starrer

Director Matt Reeves picked up his casting roll after Wednesday’s big reveal and confirmed several new additions to the cast of ‘The Batman: Part II’. Months after the news first broke online about the new additions, the director officially welcomed Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan and Charles Dance to the upcoming sequel starring Robert Pattinson in the lead.Reeves, who began unveiling cast members on his X handle on Wednesday, picked up where he left off and unveiled the new faces joining the Gotham universe.Sharing a gif from her 2013 film ‘Under the Skin’, Reeves welcomed Scarlett and wrote, “Next exit, Gotham… Welcome.”The filmmaker also confirmed Stan’s involvement in the sequel, posting, “In a Gotham state of mind… Welcome.”He also shared gifs of ‘Game of Thrones’ actor Charles Dance, along with Bryan Tyree Henry, who appeared in ‘Joker’ and ‘Eternals’ and Sebastian Koch, the German actor who appeared in ‘Homeland’, and welcomed them to the cast.According to reports, Stan is set to portray Harvey Dent, while Johansson will allegedly play his wife. This will mark a reunion for the stars who first played the Winter Soldier and Black Widow in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Meanwhile, Dance is believed to be playing Charles Dent, Harvey’s father.Also joining the cast are Jayme Lawson as Mayor Bella Reál and Gil Perez-Abraham as Officer Martinez.“See you all in Gotham… soon,” the director concluded.Filming for the sequel is currently underway in the United Kingdom. Pattinson will reprise his role as Bruce Wayne/Batman, alongside returning cast members Colin Farrell as Oz Cobb, aka the Penguin, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner James Gordon, and Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth.While plot details remain under wraps, Reeves previously teased the film’s story will unfold during winter.‘The Batman: Part 2’ is scheduled to release in theatres on October 1, 2027.
