The look was classic, effortless, very Shah Rukh. But while cameras were focused on his face, watch enthusiasts were busy zooming in on his wrist. Because what he was wearing there was no ordinary timepiece.The actor had on the Rolex Cosmograph Daytona “Blue Sapphire” – a watch so rare, it barely exists in public records.SRK has always had a soft corner for fine watches, but this one sits in a different league altogether. The Daytona Sapphire is what collectors call an off-catalogue piece. In simple terms, you can’t walk into a Rolex store and ask for it. It’s made quietly, in tiny numbers, and offered only to the brand’s most elite clients.
The watch itself is pure drama. A 40 mm case in white gold, covered with 54 diamonds, and a bezel lined with deep blue sapphires cut into neat baguette shapes. The dial, made from silver obsidian, changes colour slightly as the light hits it — subtle, but striking if you know what you’re looking at. Even the bracelet is crafted in white gold, keeping the whole piece rich without shouting.And then there’s the price.According to luxury watch trackers, this particular Daytona is valued at around ₹13 crore. Yes, crore. Only a handful are believed to exist worldwide, which is why collectors often call it the “ghost” watch. Rolex has never officially listed it in any catalogue, adding to its almost mythical status.What’s interesting is that this isn’t the first time SRK has stepped out wearing it. He was seen with the same watch during New Year’s celebrations in Dubai, at the grand event near Burj Park. Which suggests this isn’t just a one-night statement – it might actually be one of his favourites.
In true Shah Rukh style, there was no attempt to flaunt it. No close-up posts, no captions about luxury. Just a quiet flex, worn like any other watch.And somehow, that makes it even cooler.
