10 years ago, Shah Rukh Khan took on another one of his challenging roles and came out with the film ‘Fan.’ The unique and thrilling concept, along with the famed actors’ performance on screen. In a recent interview, director Maneesh Sharma revisited the moments from the iconic film and opened up about how legendary actor Shah Rukh Khan was like on the sets while filming.
Maneesh Sharma opens up about working with Shah Rukh Khan for ‘Fan’
While talking to The Indian Express, famous director Maneesh Sharma celebrated 10 years of ‘Fan’, while also talking about what the filmmaking process was like for him. Not only that, but he also touched upon the topic of what Shah Rukh Khan was like on the sets. He recalled and praised King Khan for how he managed to bring the dual characters on screen to life and properly gave justice to the story. While the film was not a big hit at the time of its release, it is still remembered by many around the country. He recalled, “What Shah Rukh brought to Aryan is truly one of a kind. In many of our discussions, he kept adding very intricate details to Aryan’s character. For instance, the moment in the wedding sequence where the businessman shuts Aryan down was actually Shah Rukh’s idea.”Adding on, he revealed that there were a lot of moments where SRK was the one who improvised and brought a lot more personality on set. “These small, subtle moments are very difficult to explain, but you can sense the vulnerability he brought to the performance, and he did so with such gravitas,” he added.
Plot of ‘Fan’
The film revolves around Gaurav, who is obsessed with the Bollywood legend Aryan Khanna, with whom he bears some resemblance as well. He looks up to him, however, when the superstar he loved rejects him in his face, he hashes out a plan to get his revenge.
