In a statement, the Ministry said the decision has been taken in light of the current developments in the country. The extension will be processed automatically through the electronic system, and applicants will not be required to visit government offices or submit additional requests. The extension will also be granted free of charge. However, the ministry clarified that visa holders with recorded violations prior to February 28, 2026 must first settle the applicable overstay penalties. After payment of the fines, the extension and the fee exemption will be effective from the announced date. The Ministry of the Interior stated that it will monitor the situation and take the necessary steps to provide legal stability for the residents and visitors. The ministry also advised people to stay at home unless they have to step out, to avoid windows and open spaces, and to adhere to safety measures issued by relevant authorities.
