Nissan India has confirmed that it will launch the Gravite in the country on February 17. This is a budget MPV, just like its Renault cousin Triber. Now, just days ahead of its debut, the company has released a new teaser that reveals more of the Gravite’s overall shape and also offers a brief look at the interior.

The Nissan Gravite is based on the same platform as the Renault Triber, though Nissan has made visible changes to ensure it carries its own identity. At the front, the MPV features a redesigned grille with the Nissan badge at the centre and noticeable chrome accents. The headlamps look different from the Triber’s, and the bonnet appears to have stronger creases for a more defined look. From the side, the Gravite is likely to get fresh alloy wheel designs and roof rails. At the rear, the MPV is expected to come with updated tail-lamps and a reworked bumper. Chrome detailing continues here as well, while the Gravite name will be clearly displayed on the tailgate. On the mechanical front, the Gravite is expected to mirror the Triber’s setup. Power is likely to come from a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 72 hp and 96 Nm of torque. We can expect both a 5-speed manual gearbox and an AMT option to be on offer.
