NEW DELHI: The BCCI on Thursday announced the 15-member India A squad for the upcoming one-day tri-series in Sri Lanka, with 23-year-old batter Tilak Varma handed the captaincy for the June assignment.The tri-series will feature India A, Sri Lanka A and Afghanistan A, with all white-ball matches scheduled to be played in Dambulla. The tour will also include two multi-day matches against Sri Lanka A in Galle after the limited-overs competition.The squad features several emerging names from the ongoing domestic and franchise circuit, with Priyansh Arya and teenage sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi among the headline inclusions. Rajasthan Royals skipper Riyan Parag has been appointed vice-captain, underlining the selectors’ focus on grooming young leadership options.Priyansh, who has impressed in recent white-ball competitions, earns a deserved place alongside Sooryavanshi, one of the most talked-about young prospects in Indian cricket. The selectors have also included wicketkeepers Prabhsimran Singh and Kumar Kushagra.Among the bowlers, Anshul Kamboj has been rewarded for his strong performances, including his impressive IPL 2026 campaign. Other notable names in the squad include Ayush Badoni, Nishant Sindhu, Harsh Dubey and Vipraj Nigam.The BCCI confirmed that the squad for the red-ball leg of the tour, comprising two multi-day matches in Galle, will be announced separately at a later date.
