Kia Carens Clavis EV gets more variants, 6-seater choice: Key details

Kia India has updated its all-electric MPV, the Kia Carens Clavis EV, with more variants, new styling options and a fresh 6-seater configuration. The Model Year 2026 update brings notable changes in several departments including comfort, design and overall usability.

Kia Carens Clavis EV: What’s new

One of the biggest highlights of this update is the introduction of a 6-seater layout with second-row captain seats. Earlier, the Carens Clavis EV was offered only as a 7-seater. The new seating option is now available across multiple trims including HTX (E), HTX, HTX+, GTX, GTX+ and X-Line. Buyers can still opt for the 7-seater configuration in select variants. Notably, there is no price difference between the 6- and 7-seater versions.

Kia Carens Clavis EV: New features

Kia has also expanded the line-up by introducing GT-Line and X-Line trims for the Extended Range variants. These bring distinct styling updates to the MPV. The GT-Line variants, including GTX and GTX+, get a sportier look with new alloy wheel designs, lime green brake calipers and metal pedals. In contrast, the X-Line trim focuses on a more rugged appearance, highlighted by an exclusive Dark Gun Metal exterior shade, along with the option of Aurora Black Pearl. The MY26 update also adds new features to the top variants. The GTX+ and X-Line trims now come equipped with a digital key and battery heating function. Meanwhile, the Standard Range variants receive updated 16-inch black aero-optimised alloy wheels. Inside, the Carens Clavis EV continues to offer a premium cabin with a large 26.62-inch dual panoramic display, over 85 connected car features and a dual-pane panoramic sunroof.

Kia Carens Clavis EV: Powertrain

The Carens Clavis EV remains unchanged mechanically. It is powered by two battery pack options: a 42 kWh unit offering an ARAI-certified range of 404 km, and a larger 51.4 kWh battery delivering up to 490 km on a single charge. The electric motor produces up to 126 kW of power and 255 Nm of torque. The MPV also supports fast charging, with the battery capable of charging from 10 to 80 percent in just 39 minutes. In terms of pricing, the Carens Clavis EV starts at Rs 17.99 lakh, ex-showroom, for the Standard Range HTK+ 7-seater variant. The range goes up to Rs 24.99 lakh for the top-spec GTX+ and X-Line Extended Range variants. Prices remain identical for both 6-seater and 7-seater configurations.
