He was 54 at the time of his passing and was serving time in prison for his crimes.As per a BBC report recently shared online, the convicted actor passed away on March 13 at the HMP Bure in Norfolk, England. A statement from the report shared that “As with all deaths in custody, the Prisons and Probation Ombudsman will investigate.” Not many details have been provided to the public about his passing. The actor had been in jail since January 14 this year after he was found guilty of supplying alcohol to teenage girls and taking advantage of them.

Last year, John Alford was accused of providing alcohol to two teenage girls and taking advantage of them. Till the very end, Alford maintained that he was innocent and had not done anything to the girls. As per BBC and The Guardian, the actor had done all of this in April 2022; however, the charges were brought forth much later. His trial was held at the St. Albans Crown Court, where the prosecutor delved into details about the matter. He stated in court that Alford “was fully aware of the girls’ ages, yet he chose to exploit them – giving them alcohol and then committing sexual offences against them.”He was later found guilty on four counts of sexual activity with the 14-year-old girl and charges of sexual assault and assault by penetration with the 15-year-old girl.

This was not the first time that the late actor had been arrested. In 1999, he was found guilty of supplying cocaine and cannabis to someone who had turned out to be an undercover journalist.
