The actor shared pictures from the French Riviera in a corset-style ensemble and wrote, “Dearest gentle reader.. it’s time to say.” The caption drew a clear link to ‘Bridgerton’ and sparked praise from celebrities, influencers and fans, who called it one of her strongest looks at the festival.

Alia Bhatt’s Cannes 2026 look draws attention

According to ANI, Alia wore the look during her latest appearance at the 79th Festival de Cannes. The outfit featured a fitted corset bodice, off-shoulder detailing, rich floral work, a long drape and a dramatic train. The look also included a hand fan, which added to the period-inspired styling.Tarun Tahiliani’s team described the outfit as a custom couture saree that brought together “the romance of Victorian dressing and the fluid elegance of Indian drape traditions.” The label also called the look “corseted chinoiserie.”Rhea Kapoor styled Alia for the appearance. She described the mood as “sculpted structure with softness, movement, and timeless elegance.” She added, “For a night built on spectacle, we chose something formed slowly, under pressure, over time.”Alia paired the saree with statement jewelry, including a choker, earrings, rings and layered brooches. Her hair was pulled back into a sleek bun, while her makeup stayed glowing and minimal.
