Ex-wife guilty of helping drug gang track down ex-husband before fatal acid attack

A 35-year-old mother has been found guilty of helping a drug gang track down her ex-husband before a fatal acid attack in Plymouth, Devon.Danny Cahalane, a father of two, died in May 2025 after suffering catastrophic burns when two men attacked him with sulphuric acid at his home. His ex-wife, Paris Wilson, stood trial alongside eight others over the killing. On Wednesday, a jury at Winchester Crown Court found her guilty of manslaughter, though she was cleared of murder after more than 40 hours of deliberations.According to The Sun, prosecutors told the court Wilson revealed Cahalane’s whereabouts to alleged drug gang figure Ryan Kennedy, known as “Frost”, who was reportedly seeking repayment of a large debt linked to a drug operation.Jurors heard Cahalane had allegedly lost around £120,000 after gambling away profits from the criminal enterprise. Prosecutors said Wilson became a “go-to” contact for Kennedy following her “acrimonious” split from Cahalane. The court heard Wilson allegedly believed her ex-husband “deserved to be hurt” and discussed payments she could receive for sharing information about his location.Messages shown to jurors included one allegedly sent days before the attack, in which Wilson told Cahalane: “I hope you and your girlfriend both end up with acid in your face.”Prosecutors also presented messages in which Kennedy allegedly threatened Cahalane over the unpaid debt, warning him he would “die” if the money was not repaid. The jury heard there had also been an earlier failed kidnapping attempt before the acid attack took place. On February 21 last year, two men broke into Cahalane’s home and attacked him with sulphuric acid, causing burns across his body. He died around 10 weeks later from what prosecutors described as “horrific” injuries.Co-defendants Abdulrasheed Adedoja and Israel Augustus were convicted of murder, while Ramarnee Bakas was found guilty of manslaughter. Brothers Arrone Mukuna, 24, and Jean Mukuna, 23, were convicted over an attempted kidnapping linked to the case.Laura Burgess of the Crown Prosecution Service described the case as “exceptionally complex” and said Cahalane’s own statements to police while in hospital were crucial in securing convictions. All defendants are due to be sentenced next month.
