Speculation is mounting around whether pregnant actress Deepika Padukone and her husband Ranveer Singh will make a high-profile appearance at this year’s Met Gala, set to take place on Monday.Ranveer and Deepika spotted at Mumbai airportRumours about the couple’s possible appearance sparked a wave of discussion on social media, after the couple was spotted at the Mumbai airport, making a quiet exit out of the city. Ranveer was seen on protective hubby duties, putting an arm around his wife as they made their way to the airport. This also happened to be the couple’s rare public sighting after announcing their second pregnancy early this month.

Because it makes sense (met gala is in more than a week) and if it’s true I would be the happiest person.”Still another added, “Deepika pregnant and Ranveer together at the Met it would be epic.”

Deepika to debut baby bump at Met Gala?

It remains to be seen if the star couple has indeed been invited to the Met. While Deepika has walked the iconic stairs, this would mark Ranveer’s debut. If the rumours are true, it would also be interesting to see if she debuts her baby bump on the iconic red carpet.

The annual fashion spectacle, held on the first Monday of May at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, is already generating significant buzz. While there has been no official confirmation from the actors attending this year’s event, fans online have placed their bets.This year’s gala will be co-chaired by Beyonce, Nicole Kidman, tennis champion Venus Williams and long-time organiser Anna Wintour. A host committee led by designer Anthony Vaccarello and filmmaker Zoe Kravitz also includes prominent names such as Sabrina Carpenter, Teyana Taylor, Lena Dunham and Misty Copeland.The gala’s dress code this year draws inspiration from the Costume Institute’s spring exhibition, “Costume Art,” which will showcase around 200 garments alongside 200 art objects, highlighting the intersection of fashion and art across centuries.
