CTET September 2026 registration window opens today at ctet.nic.in; check key dates and details

CTET September 2026: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the notification for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) September 2026 session. The online registration process is set to begin today, May 11, 2026. Eligible candidates can apply for the examination through the official CTET website, ctet.nic.in, and CBSE website, cbse.gov.in.According to the official notice, the 22nd edition of CTET will be conducted on September 6, 2026, for both Paper I and Paper II. The examination will be held in 132 cities across the country in 27 languages.The board has announced that the last date to submit the online application form is June 10, 2026, till 11:59 pm. The fee payment window will also close on the same date and time.

CTET September 2026: Important dates

Here is a look at the key dates:

  • Start of online application process: May 11, 2026
  • Last date to submit application form: June 10, 2026, till 11:59 pm
  • Last date for fee payment: June 10, 2026, till 11:59 pm
  • Correction window: June 15 to June 18, 2026
  • Admit card release: Two days before the examination
  • CTET September 2026 exam date: September 6, 2026 (Sunday)
  • Result declaration: Tentatively by the end of October 2026

CBSE has also stated that if the number of applicants increases, the examination may additionally be conducted on September 5, 2026.

No option to choose examination city

The board clarified that candidates will not be allowed to select their examination city while filling out the application form. The allotted examination city will be decided by CBSE on a random basis, and requests for changes in the allotted city will not be accepted under any circumstances.

Information bulletin to be released shortly

According to the official notice, the detailed information bulletin containing eligibility criteria, syllabus, examination fee, list of languages and city details will be made available soon on the official websites of CTET and CBSE.Candidates have been advised to carefully read the information bulletin before applying online. Applications will be accepted only through the official CTET portal and the CBSE website, CBSE official website.Read the official notice here.
