Sanjay Dutt has once again captured attention after unveiling his first look from ‘Khalnayak Returns’. The sequel brings him back to one of his most memorable roles.In 2023, Subhash Ghai and Sanjay Dutt came together to celebrate 30 years of ‘Khalnayak’ and a special screening was organised in Mumbai to mark the milestone. The event saw the presence of Jackie Shroff, Alka Yagnik, and Ila Arun. However, Madhuri Dixit, who played the female lead, was absent and Subhash Ghai’s playful tease at Sanjay Dutt was the main highlight.

As reported by News 18, during the event, Subhash Ghai shared his thoughts on the film’s lasting success. He admitted that confidence and nervousness often go hand in hand for a filmmaker.“I was always quite confident but as a director you have your moments of nervousness too. But Sanju was more confident than me about the movie.”He then took a light-hearted dig at Sanjay Dutt. “Ye (Sanjay Dutt) bolta tha, yeh picture bohot door tak jaayegi par dekhta tha Madhuri ki taraf.” (“He (Sanjay Dutt) used to say that this film will go a long way, but he would keep looking towards Madhuri.”)

Sanjay Dutt also shared an amusing behind-the-scenes story from the shoot of the iconic song “Choli Ke Peeche.” He spoke about an unexpected moment on set.“Main set pe aaya toh vohi bandook pehni thi. Toh Subhash ji ne bola isko ghagra choli pehnao. Main shock main tha, maine bola ‘Sir aap kya kar rahe ho?’ Unhone bola ‘Nahi tu pehen ke aa.’ Maine bola ‘Ghagra choli kyu pehen ke aaun?’ Unhone bola ‘Kyuki tu choli ke peeche rahega. (I came to the set and Subhash said, ‘Make him wear the blouse and skirt. I was shocked. I asked, ‘Sir, what are you doing?’ He told me to go wear it. I asked, ‘Why should I wear the skirt and blouse?’ He said, ‘You will be behind it’).” (“I came to the set wearing the usual costume with a gun. Then Subhash ji said, ‘Make him wear a ghagra choli.’ I was shocked and asked, ‘Sir, what are you doing?’ He told me, ‘No, go and wear it.’ I asked, ‘Why should I wear a ghagra choli?’ He replied, ‘Because you will be behind the choli.’”)With the first look of ‘Khalnayak Returns’ now out, anticipation is building once again for the action thriller.
