Vasudevanallur Assembly Constituency (SC-reserved) is located in Tenkasi district, Tamil Nadu, part of Tenkasi Lok Sabha constituency, encompassing rural agricultural lands growing paddy, sugarcane, and millets near the Western Ghats foothills. Dr T Sadhan Tirumalaikumar (also known as Sathan Tirumalaikumar) of MDMK allied with DMK won the 2021 election with 68,730 votes (39.08% share), defeating AIADMK’s Manoharan (66,363 votes) by a margin of 2,367 votes, and serves as the current MLA as of March 2026 with no subsequent changes reported. Key issues include chronic irrigation shortages reliant on the Tamiraparani River, inadequate rural roads and electricity, insufficient healthcare and schools, high youth unemployment, and calls for agro-based industries in this underdeveloped Scheduled Caste-dominated region.
