A former radio DJ David Mueller sexually assaulted megastar Taylor Swift by groping her bare buttocks under her skirt during a June 2013 concert’s meet-and-greet photo opportunity at the Pepsi Center in Denver.Taylor Swift’s then-bodyguard, Greg Dent, saw the DJ put his hand under Swift’s skirt, and that Swift “jumped to pull her skirt down.”

Taylor Swift’s bodyguard Drew reportedly has to follow three rules

It is the foremost duty of a bodyguard to protect their celebrity. Greg Dent justified inaction during the June 2013 incident saying, “he didn’t sense danger after he touched her,” and because Taylor Swift did not signal that he should intervene. While Greg Dent was Taylor Swift’s personal bodyguard for five years, her current bodyguard, Drew, has reportedly not been changed in 10 years. As per an X account called Toluwase, here’s why: “Why has Taylor Swift not changed her bodyguard, Drew, in 10 years? He must abide by three strict rules: No. 1 Taylor can never be out of Drew’s sight.Even at the Grammy Awards, he has to sit next to Taylor. Besides Drew, only Beyonce’s bodyguard, Julius, does this. However, when Taylor is with her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, Drew will intentionally avoid them. No. 2 Drew never discloses his personal information to the public. Drew isn’t even his real name. He uses this to avoid attracting too much fan attention.Taylor once had a personal bodyguard, Greg Dent, for five years. Although Greg was very loyal, his fame attracted too many fans, so Taylor had to let him go. To avoid being fired, Drew never posts on social media. He is always dedicated only to Taylor. No. 3 Drew must work out every day. As a retired Special Forces soldier, he keeps his physical condition at his best. After all, Drew needs to keep Taylor away from the crowd of fans when necessary.Taylor once suffered harassment from a DJ during a concert, which caused her a lot of distress. But her bodyguard at the time didn’t protect her. After Taylor hired Drew, that situation has never happened again. No wonder Drew earns a $1 million annual salary and a $300,000 bonus.”

Secret service agent for popstar

Toluwase captioned the post with: “But does Drew get to have a personal life at all? Is he with Taylor every day? I feel like those are more his rules than hers.” To which fans flooded with responses. One post read, “10 years is wild loyalty for real. Drew basically signed up for Taylor Swift 24/7 mode. No personal life, fake name, gym every single day. Bro is living like a secret service agent for a pop star. That level of trust is rare, though; she clearly feels safest with him. Respect to Drew, but I hope he sneaks in a vacation sometimes.”Another wondered, “10 years is crazy loyalty for real, but doesn’t he have a wife?” A user hypothetically answered, “If he is married, his wife must be very understanding.”

Travis Kelce’s beloved Taylor Swift kept same CPOs for long because of trust issues

Rebecca Lewis of HELLO! reported in Jan. 2025 that the long-term annual salaries for CPOs [close protection officers] average around $150,000, which amounts to an eye-watering $12,450,000. “For someone of Taylor [Swift]’s caliber, a minimum of four protection agents is recommended. A typical breakdown for a four-agent team would involve day and night shifts, as one agent alone cannot effectively provide continuous 14-hour protection,” Adam Gonzales, a Security Professional at Hyperion Services, told HELLO! However, Gonzales noted that it is rare for CPOs to stay with one client as long as Taylor Swift’s team, as rotations are necessary to ensure agents remain at peak performance.Rebecca Lewis of HELLO! noted that Taylor Swift may have kept the same CPOs for so long because she has struggled with trust over the years, “feeling betrayed by friends and loved ones.”
