Tess Daly and Vernon Kay split after 22 years of marriage: ‘This has not been an easy choice’

Two of television’s popular and beloved presenters, Tess Daly and Vernon Kay, have separated after 22 years of marriage. The couple, who tied the knot in September 2003 and share two children, mentioned that it was an ‘amicable’ split, a decision made with mutual respect and understanding.

The news of their split was announced through a social media post, wherein Tess Daly, best known for ‘Strictly Come Dancing’, shared a joint statement, “After much consideration, and with a deep sense of care and respect for one another, we have made the decision to separate amicably.” Further, highlight how it was a difficult but important decision to take, it continued, “This has not been an easy choice, but it comes from a place of mutual understanding and a shared desire for what is best for both of us. We remain great friends and, most importantly, fully committed to our roles as loving and supportive parents, which will always be our priority. There are no other parties involved in this decision.”The couple also seeked spaced and mentioned, “We kindly ask for privacy during this time as we navigate this transition together.”

Tess Daly and Vernon Kay met in 2001 at a Christmas party. They were presenting rival programs, yet they hit it off instantly. In 2002, Day proposed to Daly, and in 2003, they got marriage at St Mary’s Catholic church in Horwich, Lancashire. They share two daughters, Phoebe, 21, and Amber, 16.Tess Daly and Vernon Kay have seen hot waters as a couple. As a couple, they survived a scandal in 2010 when Vermon Kay admitted sending explicit online messages to five women.During his BBC Radio 1 show, he apologised live on air, admitting that he had “been an idiot and let my family down”. This time, Kay was pulled out of his show, as he faced fresh accusations of again contacting one of the women. He pleaded innocent, said the message didn’t have any inappropriate intent and later returned to the role.
