Advance bookings in India began on May 10, coinciding with the launch of the film’s trailer. The response in Tamil Nadu was immediate and encouraging. According to Republic World, Tamil Nadu has emerged as the biggest contributor to the film’s advance bookings.The report states that Karuppu crossed Rs 40 lakh in pre-sales in the state within one hour of tickets going live. The film’s worldwide advance bookings are now nearing the Rs 2 crore mark.
