Singer Arijit Singh returns to the stage, appears at FIRST live show post playback retirement
Arijit Singh performed his first live show in Kolkata since quitting new playback gigs, joining Anoushka Shankar for a viral duet. He thanked her on Instagram: “Thank you, Anoushka Shankar…” She replied, “Humbled beyond belief.” Fans gushed emotionally online.

Arijit Singh, famed playback artist, took the Kolkata stage for his debut live gig post his playback singing hiatus announcement. The highlight thrilled fans when the voice behind ‘Tum Hi Ho’ shared the spotlight with sitarist Anoushka Shankar in a collaborative set.

Right after, Arijit posted on social media for the first time since saying no to new singing jobs. On Instagram Story, he thanked Anoushka Shankar and said he loved singing with her. “Thank you, Anoushka Shankar, for having me on stage last night in Kolkata. I’ve always adored your music; it listens, it speaks, it stays. Playing alongside you is always a beautiful experience, and one I look forward to every time. Grateful for the music, the moments, and the generosity you bring to every note. Special thanks to @bickramghoshofficial,” Arijit wrote. Reacting to Arijit’s note, Anoushka Shankar replied, “Humbled beyond belief, @arijitsingh.”

I am happy to announce that I am not going to be taking any new assignments as a playback vocalist from now on. I am calling it off. It was a wonderful journey,” he posted.
