Second chance CET from May 9; 4.92 lakh students to appear

The State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell has announced the schedule for the second attempt of MHT-CET for the 2026–27 academic year. The exams will be held from May 9 to May 21, with 4,92,383 students set to appear, a statement issued by the state CET Cell said.The second attempt covers MBA/MMS, Engineering (PCM), Pharmacy and Agriculture (PCB) streams. As per the schedule, the MBA/MMS CET will be conducted on May 9 for 53,931 candidates. The PCB group exam will be held on May 10 and 11 for 1,16,538 students. The PCM group exam will run from May 12 to May 21, excluding May 16 and 17, with 3,21,914 candidates.In the first attempt, 8,96,236 students had registered, of whom 8,33,482 appeared, recording 92.99% attendance. A total of 62,754 students were absent.This year marks the first time the CET Cell has introduced two attempts for these entrance exams, following the model of national-level JEE (Main). As per directions from Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil, students were given the option to appear for one or both attempts while filling the application form. Appearing for at least one exam is mandatory, while the second attempt is optional.If a candidate appears for both attempts, the higher percentile score will be considered for admission.
