Rohit Shetty requests his friends from the industry to not visit his house after the firing incident: Report

The firing incident outside director Rohit Shetty‘s house has left everyone shocked. The incident took place in the early hours of Sunday, when unidentified assailants allegedly fired four rounds outside the Bollywood director’s residential building, police officials confirmed. In the aftermath, security around Shetty’s residential tower in Juhu was significantly tightened, with police and forensic teams cordoning off the area to conduct a thorough investigation.Now as the police inspection is underway, a report suggests that Shetty has requested his close friends from the industry to avoid visiting him for at least India Today has quoted a source saying, “Rohit is currently cooperating with the Mumbai police and recording his statement. He is absolutely involved in the investigation. Even though his residence has been given added security, he has asked all his industry friends not to come home. He is attending to all his worried friends and colleagues only via calls and messages.”Fortunately, no injuries were reported after this incident. In connection with the case, five suspects were detained in Pune and later handed over to the Mumbai Crime Branch for further questioning, a Pune City Police official stated. Earlier, the Mumbai Crime Branch had constituted 12 special teams to track down those involved in the firing.The incident has drawn strong reactions from within the film industry. The Indian Film & Television Directors’ Association (IFTDA) issued a statement condemning the firing and raised serious concerns over safety. The association also urged Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to personally intervene.“The entire film fraternity is deeply shocked and concerned about the safety and well-being of one of the most respected and iconic filmmakers of the Indian entertainment industry. Such incidents create an atmosphere of fear and insecurity, which is unacceptable. We appeal to our Honourable Chief Minister Shri Devendra Fadnavis Ji to personally look into the matter, as this grave incident should not shake the morality and confidence of the entertainment industry. We are confident that the efficient Mumbai Police will take swift and strict action, identify and book the culprits at the earliest, and ensure complete protection to Mr Rohit Shetty and his family,” the statement read.
