Rasha Thadani to star opposite Vir Hirani in 'Lagan Laagi Re', shoot begins in July 2026 - Report
Vir Hirani, son of Rajkumar Hirani, casts Rasha Thadani opposite him in his debut film, the small‑town romance Lagan Laagi Re, directed by Sonali Rattan Deshmukh and produced by Jay Shewakramani under Northern Lights Films. Vir, who stars in the thriller series Pritam Pedro, makes his big‑screen debut, while Rasha, known for Azaad, gears up for Laikey Laika and Srinivasa Mangapuram.

Vir Hirani, son of Rajkumar Hirani, has cast his leading lady for his debut theatrical film, a vibrant young love story helmed by Sonali Rattan Deshmukh. She previously assisted her husband Kunal Deshmukh on hit romantic musicals such as ‘Jannat’, ‘Tum Mile’, and ‘Shiddat’.

According to Variety India, Raveena Tandon‘s daughter Rasha Thadani is set to star opposite Vir Hirani in Jay Shewakramani‘s upcoming production, tentatively called ‘Lagan Laagi Re’. The makers are excited about their fresh on-screen pairing, viewing Vir and Rasha as an ideal romantic duo. Filming begins in July 2026.

‘Lagan Laagi Re’ unfolds as a contemporary small-town romance. Karan Vyas, known for hits like ‘Scam 1992’, ‘Scam 2003’, ‘Scoop’, and ‘Raid 2’, has crafted the screenplay. The film is produced by Jay Shewakramani under his Northern Lights Films label, behind successes such as ‘Jawaani Jaaneman, Malang’, ‘Freddy’, ‘Jaane Jaan’, ‘Maalik’, and ‘Inspector Zende’.

The film marks Vir Hirani’s big-screen debut and his second acting project, after forthcoming series ‘Pritam Pedro’, a cybercrime thriller created by his father, Rajkumar Hirani and co-starring Arshad Warsi and Vikrant Massey.
