Rajisha Vijayan on Mammootty's performance in 'Kalamkaval', says, 'Mammukka switches so smoothly into the character'
Mammootty’s chilling portrayal of serial killer Stanley Das in ‘Kalamkaval’ has cemented its place as his second-biggest hit. Co-star Rajisha Vijayan marvels at his seamless transformation into the character, noting his performance is remarkably smooth and undetectable. The film, also featuring Vinayakan, is lauded for its intense acting and unsettling atmosphere, making it a compelling watch despite uneven pacing.

The film ‘Kalamkaval’, directed by Jithin K. Jose, stars Mammootty and Vinayakan in the main roles. It has now become the second biggest hit in Mammootty’s long career.Rajisha Vijayan, who played a pivotal role in the movie, has now opened up about Mammootty’s performance in the movie ‘Kalamkaval’ where the superstar stepped into the role of a serial killer named Stanley Das.

Mammootty switches smoothly into the character

In a fest organised by Mathrubhumi, Rajisha said, “I didn’t even realise when Mammukka became Stanley Das, he switches so smoothly into the character.”Rajisha added, “I was talking to Mammukka for so long and suddenly he became the character.” She said that she did not understand the moment when Mammootty switched from being himself to becoming Stanley Das. “The biggest lesson I learned from Mammukka is that you cannot understand when he becomes the character. For many actors, when they switch into the character, we can understand it. There will be some reaction happening somewhere. But with him it is very smooth. I did not even know when he changed from Mammukka to Stanley Das,” said the ‘Bison’ actress. For her, seeing this with her own eyes was something very special. She said, “For me, being able to see that and getting to stand even in one frame with him is what excited me the most.”

Mammootty’s performance shocked the audiences

In the movie, Mammootty played the villain named Stanley Das. His calm but scary performance made the character stand out. The film also gave Vinayakan a strong role, and he matched Mammootty’s presence with his own intense acting.ETimes review also praised Mammootty’s acting. Our review said, “Mammootty remains the film’s biggest asset, delivering a performance sharpened by stillness and cold precision.”Our official review also said Vinayakan gave a strong performance too, with a “brooding, tightly coiled presence.” The review noted that the movie’s momentum was uneven at times, but the strong acting and atmosphere made it worth watching. It said the film is lifted by “Mammootty’s enigmatic presence and the unsettling psychological duel at its core.”Up next, Mammootty will be seen in ‘Patriot’.
