Riteish Deshmukh‘s ‘Raja Shivaji’ has hit the theaters today on May 1, 2026, coinciding with Maharashtra Day. Ahead of its release in cinemas, the makers hosted a premiere show on April 30, 2026, in Mumbai. Several celebs, including the cast of the film, had arrived for the special screening of the period drama. The attendees also included several contestants of ‘Bigg Boss Marathi’ Season 6, the show hosted by Deshmukh.

The special screening of Riteish Deshmukh’s ‘Raja Shivaji’ was a star-studded event. Several Bollywood celebs, including the cast, made their presence felt at the premiere. Along with that, ‘Bigg Boss Marathi 6’ contestants Rakhi Sawant, winner Tanvi Kolte, Reva Kaurase, Ayush Sanjeev, Omkar Raut, and Sanket Pathak also attended the special screening of the film.Now, a video of Rakhi urging everyone to go and watch the film at the premiere is going viral on the internet. ‘Raja Shivaji’, as the title suggests, is based on the life of Maratha warrior king, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Riteish Deshmukh will be seen in the titular character. Meanwhile, he has also directed the movie, which is his most ambitious project until now.Apart from Riteish, the film also features Sanjay Dutt, Abhishek Bachchan, Mahesh Manjrekar, Sachin Khedekar, Bhagyashree, Fardeen Khan, Jitendra Joshi, Amole Gupte, and Genelia Deshmukh.The star cast also includes Boman Irani, Siddharth Jadhav, Suresh Vishwakarma, Kapil Honrao, Siddharth Shinde, and Mohit Takalkar. Salman Khan will be seen making a special appearance as Jiva Mahala in the movie.The film has hit theaters today on May 1, 2026. The film has released in Hindi, Marathi, and Telugu. As per the Sacnilk report, the movie will have a record-breaking opening for its Marathi version.
