The Punjab Subordinate Services Selection Board (PSSSB) has released the notification for recruitment to the post of Excise and Taxation Inspector. This year, a total of 197 vacancies have been announced. The recruitment will be conducted through a written examination followed by a typing test. There will be no interview. Candidates who meet the required educational qualification and age limit can apply online through the official website of PSSSB. The board has issued detailed information regarding eligibility, selection process, exam pattern, fee and pay scale. PSSSB vacancy details and eligibility criteria
PSSSB has notified 197 posts of Excise and Taxation Inspector. The vacancies are distributed across different categories as per Punjab government reservation rules.Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree from a recognised university. They should have passed matriculation with Punjabi as a subject. Applicants must also have completed a 120-hour computer course with practical training in office applications or possess a DOEACC ‘O’ level certificate.The minimum age required is 18 years. The upper age limit for general category candidates is 37 years. Age relaxation is applicable for reserved categories as per government norms.
Selection process and exam pattern
The selection process consists of a written examination and a typing test. There will be no interview round.The written exam will carry 100 marks and will be conducted in offline mode. The duration of the exam will be two hours. There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer.The question paper will include sections on General Awareness, Mental Ability and Arithmetic, Computer Basics, and Language Proficiency in Punjabi and English. Candidates who qualify in the written exam will be called for the typing test.Final selection will be made as per performance in the prescribed stages.
Salary and application fee
Selected candidates will receive pay as per the 7th Central Pay Commission. The starting basic pay is Rs 35,400 per month along with admissible allowances.The application fee differs by category. General category candidates need to pay Rs 1000. SC, ST and EWS candidates must pay Rs 250. Ex-servicemen and their dependents are required to pay Rs 200, while candidates under the handicapped category need to pay Rs 500.Candidates should check the official PSSSB website for updates on exam dates and admit card release.
