A few hours ago, as per the Associated Press, the Kansas City Current earned a whopping $1.1 million as intra-league transfer funds as the team traded its star player, Claire Hutton, to Bay FC.ID@undefined Caption not available.But that’s not all; the $1.1 million intra-league transfer funds have broken all records and are one of the highest transfer fees in the history of the National Women’s Soccer League.As per Forbes, to replace Claire Hutton, the Kansas City Current acquired Croix Bethune as the Washington Spirit was paid $100,000 in allocation funds and a whopping $900,000 in transfer threshold funds.Despite the million dollar move, both Patrick Mahomes and his wife, Brittany Mahomes, have stayed away from issuing an official statement on this.While Brittany Mahomes invested in the Kansas City Current in 2021, Patrick Mahomes joined her in 2023.Patrick Mahomes had issued a statement in 2023 where he said, “I am thankful for the chance to join my wife as part of the Kansas City Current’s ownership team…”The Kansas City Chiefs’ star player added, “Brittany and the Longs have done an incredible job building a world-class organization.
