'BTS: The Return' documentary trailer releases online; offers ARMY an intimate look at K-Pop stars' insecurities before 'Arirang' comeback

A new trailer for the upcoming documentary ‘BTS: The Return’ has been officially released online!The clip let the BTS ARMY behind the scenes, and offered a glimpse into the exciting next chapter of the global K-pop supergroup’s comeback as they create their fifth studio album, ‘Arirang’. Directed by Bao Nguyen, the 1.43 minute trailer gives fans a look at RM, V, Jin, Jimin, Suga, JungKook and J-Hope getting the jitters as they prep for their big return after years on hiatus, to fulfil their mandatory military service. ‘BTS: The Return’ trailer releases onlineThe trailer opens with the members greeting viewers, “Welcome to the BTS documentary,” before reflecting on the pressures of returning after a hiatus. “Being a part of a team like BTS is like wearing a big, incredible crown,” one member says in a voiceover.

The group also speaks candidly about the challenges of making a comeback in a fast-moving music landscape. “We’ve been out for too long. Trends shift every season. Standing still isn’t an option,” one member says.Despite the pressure surrounding the new album, RM notes in the trailer, “At our core, we’re still a bunch of country kids from Korea.”He goes on to add, “Time just passed by in the military. Here you really feel the impermanence of time. And we’re trying to find out what makes us BTS.”‘BTS: The Return’ documentary release dateThe documentary follows the release of the album ‘ARIRANG’ this week and the release of the band’s live performance event titled ‘BTS THE COMEBACK LIVE | ARIRANG’. Besides letting fans in on their music and song-writing for the album, it also provides behind-the-scenes access on the band’s adventures in Los Angeles as they work, play, cry together while making the new album. Since debuting in 2013, BTS has become one of the most influential K-Pop music acts in the world.‘BTS: The Return’ will premiere on March 27.
