The NTA will soon publish the notification for the University Grants Commission (UGC) June 2026 session. According to sources, the notification is expected to come out during the last weeks of April. In the previous session, the UGC June notification was published on April 19, with exams held from June 25 to June 29.Candidates who qualify stand eligible for the post of Assistant Professor in various universities and colleges across the country. Most importantly, those who score well land themselves the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF). This fellowship paves the way to research opportunities and pursuing a doctoral program.When the higher education system is growing and the research output is under review, the UGC NET holds its significance as one of the key filters. It decides who is eligible to enter the workforce of the academia and who qualifies for further research at institutes.The examination follows the CBT pattern divided into two papers:Paper I: The paper tests the teaching and research aptitude of candidates, emphasizing their reasoning ability, comprehension, and analysis.Paper II: It evaluates the candidate’s knowledge of their specialized field.
