Man used fake Tinder profile to send strangers to ex’s home, convicted in UK Court

A 36-year-old man has been convicted after using a fake Tinder profile to send multiple men to his ex-partner’s home under false pretences.Asad Hussain, also known as Ash Hussain, was found guilty at Chester Crown Court of stalking involving serious alarm or distress, assault by beating, and failing to comply with a section 49 RIPA notice. The court heard Hussain created a false Tinder account using his ex-partner’s photos and personal details. He shared her address, phone number and email with multiple men, inviting them to her home under false pretences.Cheshire Police said at least 18 men turned up at the woman’s address during 2024, believing they had been invited after matching with her online. Some told her she had messaged saying she wanted to engage in “rape fantasy” and to be “roughed up”. They said they had been told that if she said “no”, it meant she “wanted it more”, reports Manchester Evening News.On one occasion, several men arrived at her home on the same night after receiving similar messages. In another incident, a man forced the front door, damaging a glass panel, after being told it was open and to push it.Another individual entered the property while the woman’s child was inside, though no physical harm was reported. The court was told Hussain had initially contacted the victim using a false name and later became controlling during their relationship. After it ended, he repeatedly attempted to contact her and made accusations to her family and friends.Police said Hussain took steps to conceal his identity, including using separate phones and altering vehicle registration details. Officers later linked him to the fake accounts through location data and vehicle records. He was arrested in October 2024 and denied any involvement during questioning.Hussain was found guilty of stalking involving serious alarm or distress, assault by beating, and failing to comply with a section 49 RIPA notice, which is a formal demand requiring a person to provide passwords to electronic devices.Investigating officer PC Keith Terrill described the case as highly disturbing.“Hussain is an extremely deceitful individual whose only objective was to cause maximum harm to the victim and her children, even going as far as to incite others to break into her home and sexually assault her,” he said.“At no point has Hussain taken any responsibility for his actions or recognised the sheer horror he came close to unleashing. He repeatedly claimed he’d never met the victim. The evidence however has shown this to be a complete lie.”He added that the victim and her family had been left shaken by the incidents.“These events have understandably left the victim and her children incredibly shaken and distressed.“The strength and bravery shown by them throughout has been incredible,” he said. “Thanks to this and the incredible support from her daughters, friends and other witnesses, Hussain has been held to account for his actions.”Hussain was convicted following a nine-day trial. Sentencing is expected at a later date.
