'Love Insurance Kompany' box office collections day 20: Pradeep Ranganathan’s film earns just Rs 13 lakh; Theatrical run nearing close

‘Love Insurance Kompany’ is clearly approaching the end of its theatrical journey. The film witnessed a significant dip in collections on day 20.According to Sacnilk, it earned only Rs 13 lakh from the Tamil version on the day.Day 16 and day 17 remained under Rs 1 crore. Day 18 and day 19 saw further decline, each collecting Rs 27 lakhs. The film now appears to be in its final stretch in cinemas.

A futuristic love story with a twist

The film blends science fiction with romance and is directed by Vignesh Shivan. The story is set in the year 2040 and revolves around a world where relationships are controlled by a dating app called LIK.The narrative revolves around a man who believes in natural love and he falls for a woman who trusts the system.The film features Pradeep Ranganathan, S. J. Suryah and Krithi Shetty in lead roles. Supporting performances come from Yogi Babu, Seeman and Gouri G Kishan among others.

Overall box office performance of ‘LIK’

Despite the recent slowdown, the film has posted a respectable total. The Tamil version has collected Rs 35.22 crore net. The Telugu version contributed Rs 7.29 crore.The overall India net stands at Rs 42.51 crore. The India gross has reached Rs 48.95 crore. Overseas collections are at Rs 11.10 crore. This brings the worldwide total to Rs 60.05 crore.

Critical reception and review for ‘LIK’

The film received a rating of 3.5 stars out of 5 from ETimes. The review appreciated its concept and visual execution.It stated, “Set in 2040, Vignesh Shivan’s Love Insurance Kompany grapples with a question that feels strikingly contemporary: can technology truly map something as unpredictable and deeply felt as love?
