Kyle Jamieson punished after send-off to Vaibhav

Kyle Jamieson, representing the Delhi Capitals, has been handed a demerit point and an official warning for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct during Match No. 43 against the Rajasthan Royals at Sawai Mansingh Stadium. The New Zealand fast bowler was found guilty of a Level 1 offence under Article 2.5, which pertains to “using language, actions or gestures which disparage or could provoke an aggressive reaction from another player.” Jamieson admitted to the charge and accepted the sanction imposed by match referee Rajeev Seth.

The Incident

The flashpoint occurred early in Rajasthan’s innings, in just the second over of the match. Jamieson produced a pinpoint yorker to dismiss teenage sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi for 4, showcasing his precision and control with the ball. However, what followed drew widespread attention. After the dismissal, Jamieson celebrated with an aggressive clap and walked close to the batter, locking eyes in a manner deemed confrontational. The send-off, directed at the 15-year-old, was seen as excessive and potentially provocative. The moment quickly became one of the most talked-about incidents of the match, sparking debate among fans and pundits alike. While some viewed it as part of the intensity of competitive cricket, others questioned the need for such aggression, especially toward a young player.

Delhi outclassed Rajasthan

KL Rahul led a dominant chase as Delhi Capitals defeated Rajasthan Royals by seven wickets at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, successfully hunting down 226 with five balls to spare.Rahul anchored the innings with a composed 75 off 40 balls, while Pathum Nissanka set the tone early with a rapid 62 off 33. The pair’s 110-run opening stand put Delhi firmly in control. Contributions from Nitish Rana (33 off 17) and an unbeaten finishing stand between Ashutosh Sharma and Tristan Stubbs ensured a smooth chase.Earlier, Riyan Parag starred for Rajasthan with a superb 90 off 50 after they slipped to 12/2. He shared a crucial 102-run partnership with Dhruv Jurel (42), helping Royals post 225/6. However, on a batting-friendly pitch, their total proved insufficient as Delhi completed a second successive successful 225+ chase at the venue within a week.
