SR Prabhu announces cancellation of morning shows
Producer SR Prabhu officially confirmed that the early morning shows of the film would not happen as planned. Sharing the update on social media, he wrote, “Due to unavoidable reasons, 9 am shows will be cancelled for ‘Karuppu.’ Our sincere apologies to everyone!” A report from News 18 suggests that the issue is linked to a financial settlement involving the production company. Because of the ongoing discussions, theatres reportedly paused advance bookings for the morning screenings. Some theatre owners also hinted that the film’s release could be delayed if the issue is not resolved quickly.
RJ Balaji shares emotional message for fans
Before the official cancellation update, RJ Balaji had shared an emotional message asking fans to stay hopeful yesterday (May 13) night. In his post, he wrote, “Dearest fans, I don’t have a concrete answer to the current situation. Producers are doing their best to solve the hurdles. This film has always had hurdles, and somehow God has made us sail through all that, and here we are after 32 months.” He further added in Tamil, “கருப்பன் எல்லாத் தடையும் அடிச்சு உடைப்பான். #Karuppu நாளைக்கு காலைல செமயா release ஆகும்..!!! நம்பிக்கை வைங்க, நடக்கும்…!!!” (Karuppan will break every obstacle. ‘Karuppu’ will be released tomorrow morning grandly. Keep faith, it will happen.) His message quickly went viral among fans online.

Despite the sudden cancellation of the special morning shows, fans continue to remain hopeful about the film’s release. The movie stars Trisha, RJ Balaji, Yogi Babu, Natty, Swasika, and Mansoor Ali Khan in important roles, with music composed by Sai Abhyankkar. Since the film has already generated huge expectations among audiences, many fans are now waiting for an official update from the makers regarding the remaining shows and release plans.
