The third language paper of the SSLC examination, which was earlier scheduled to be held on the 30th of March, has been postponed to the 31st of March as a result of the change in the Mahaveer Jayanthi holiday notification. It has been confirmed that the rest of the schedule will be held as earlier planned.The change in the date of the SSLC examination was made by the Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board as a result of the change in the notification of the Mahaveer Jayanthi holiday by the state government. The Mahaveer Jayanthi festival, which was earlier notified to be held on the 31st of March, has now been shifted to the 30th of March, which led to the change in the date of the SSLC examination.Change linked to revised holiday notificationThe change in the date of the SSLC examination has come as a result of the change in the notification of the Mahaveer Jayanthi holiday. As the 30th of March has been notified as a holiday, it was not possible to hold the examination on the 30th of March.The board has sent out fresh instructions to schools and examination centers to conform to this new date. Students appearing for the third language paper have been notified through official channels, including school authorities and notifications from the board.The rest of the examination schedule is unchangedExcept for this rescheduled paper, all other SSLC examinations will be conducted according to the original plan. The examinations began on March 18 and will conclude on April 2. Officials have stated that maintaining the original dates for all other papers is a priority to avoid further complications.Superintendents at all examination centers have been instructed to stick to this revised timetable.Large number of candidates appearing statewideThe SSLC examination this year has seen around 8.65 lakh students from across the state appear for the examination. This has necessitated the administration to conduct the affairs in a coordinated manner across different districts. In this regard, it has been emphasized that proper communication to the students and others regarding the changes will be done in time.It has been confirmed that proper arrangements have been made by the education department to ensure that the students do not suffer due to the changes. It has been emphasized that the changes were inevitable in the wake of the revised declaration of holidays. It has also been reiterated that the integrity of the examination process has not been affected in any way and that there will be no further changes in the schedule.
