J&K Dy CM seeks jammer, bulletproof vehicles for self

JAMMU: J&K deputy CM Surinder Choudhary has sought jammer and bulletproof vehicles to upgrade his security cover in the wake of an attempt on National Conference chief Farooq Abdullah’s life on March 11.Seeking an immediate review of Choudhary’s security cover, his OSD has written to SSP (security), demanding the restoration of a jammer vehicle that was withdrawn from his motorcade six months ago for repairs. The OSD expressed displeasure over no response to his earlier request for a bulletproof vehicle for Choudhary’s scheduled visit to Nowshera. ‘The letter also flagged the demand for the replacement of old vehicles,” the official said.Choudhary was accompanying Farooq to a wedding function where the former CM miraculously escaped gunfire from a point-blank range by one Kamal Singh Jamwal (63), who was arrested on the spot.
