As opposed to the weakening of the material when exposed to warmth, the new material became even stronger.This particular detail is important because it showed historians that heat, together with sulfur, could alter the characteristics of rubber. According to historians, the breakthrough should not only be regarded as an accident but rather as the fact that Goodyear kept studying and experimenting with his discovery.In general, such stories become well-known due to one fact that some individuals pay special attention to unexpected events.What vulcanization changedNatural rubber had many drawbacks before the process was developed by Goodyear.
