NEW DELHI: At least six people were killed and several others were injured on Wednesday evening after a pickup van overturned in Gujarat’s Valsad district. According to the police, the van was carrying around 30 people from Girnara village to a wedding. Inspector DN Vanza of Karpada police station said that the vehicle overturned after the driver lost control of the wheel, killing three children, two women and a man, news agency PTI reported. The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital, the police said.Prime Minster Narendra Modi condemned the loss of lives and prayed for the recovery of injured. Prime Minister Office (PMO) in a post on X wrote, “The loss of lives due to a mishap in Valsad, Gujarat, is saddening. My thoughts are with the bereaved families in this hour of grief. Praying for the swift recovery of the injured.”
