GGSIPU introduces seven new healthcare courses, admissions open for 2026 session: Check details here

Students looking to build a career in healthcare and allied medical sciences now have more options at Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU). The university has introduced seven new paramedical and healthcare programmes for the 2026 academic session and has started the online admission process for the same.The newly launched courses focus on areas that are seeing growing demand in India’s healthcare sector, including clinical psychology, trauma care, rehabilitation, epidemiology, speech pathology, and optometry.According to the university, candidates can apply online through the official admission portals. The last date to submit the application form is May 31, 2026.

New courses introduced

The university has rolled out a mix of undergraduate, postgraduate, and specialised diploma programmes. These are:

  • BSc Clinical Psychology (Hons.)
  • BSc Emergency Medical and Trauma Technology (EMTT)
  • Epidemic Intelligence Service (EIS) / Master in Applied Epidemiology
  • MA Clinical Psychology
  • Post Graduate Diploma in Rehabilitation Psychology (PGDRP)
  • MSc Speech Language Pathology (SLP)
  • Bachelor of Optometry

The courses have been introduced at a time when healthcare institutions are increasingly looking for trained professionals beyond traditional medical roles.

Separate fee for each course

GGSIPU has fixed the application fee at Rs 2,500 for each programme. Students applying for multiple courses will have to pay the fee separately for every application.The university has advised applicants to carefully read the eligibility conditions and admission guidelines before completing the registration process.

Growing demand for allied healthcare professionals

In the past several years, industries like mental health care, emergency services, rehabilitation, and public health research have witnessed considerable growth. It is thought that this trend has developed a high demand for qualified professionals in specialist areas of health care.Similarly, courses such as clinical psychology, trauma technology, and speech therapy are being sought after by students because there are a number of job openings in hospital settings, rehabilitation clinics, testing centers, and public health organizations. Admissions are ongoing; therefore, those who are interested should apply before the May 31 deadline.
