Former JPMorgan banker Chirayu Rana was referred for mental health treatment after a probe into harassment allegations found no evidence

In a case that is developing with surprising turns each day, another layer has revealed itself. Former JPMorgan banker Chirayu Rana was referred to mental health treatment by prosecutors after they launched a criminal investigation into his claims against Lorna Hajdini, as per a report by The Post.It was in summer 2025 that the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office began looking into the claims after the 35-year-old accused JP Morgan Chase’s Leveraged Finance Division executive director of sexual abuse allegations. The allegations, which were dubbed fabricated by JPMorgan exploded into a viral controversy last week after Rana filed a lawsuit accusing his 37-year-old former colleague of drugging him, coercing him into degrading sex acts, calling him racist names and threatening his career. While it remains unclear exactly when Rana approached the DA’s office, the probe was closed after no evidence of criminal wrongdoing was uncovered, as per the sources. On his part, Rana mentioned what he claimed was an “open criminal investigation” along with his mental health referral under the DA office’s victim support services in the updated court filings on Monday. As evidence to back up his claims, he alleged that he became enrolled in the state’s ‘Address Confidentiality Program’, a program that offers victims of sex crimes an alternative address to keep them safe.He also said a counsellor with the “Survivor Services Bureau of the New York County District Attorney’s Office” had “engaged with me in connection with the open criminal investigation by the Manhattan District Attorney’s Trial Division.” He said the DA’s investigation and referral to victims’ services showed “independent third-party institutional engagement with me as a victim, predating by months the filing of this action,” his affidavit stated. Moreover, elsewhere in the filing he also mentioned that he had sought mental health care months before the DA filing, in early February from a psychotherapist, Jonathan Albert. He included an email he sent to the therapist in June 2025 that described several mental health symptoms including hearing Hajdini’s voice inside his head and experiencing “recurrent nightmares” about the alleged assaults. As per the filings, Rana claims that the therapist diagnosed him with PTSD in October. While Rana has made some explosive claims against Hajdini and JPMorgan, both have denied the allegations. An internal probe carried out by the bank found no evidence of wrongdoing, as per numerous sources. Moreover, over the course of the days after the filing, Rana’s lies about his father’s death have also raised questions about the truth of his claims.
