'Everyone wins': Indian firms to invest $20 billion in US across sectors, says Sergio Gor

US ambassador to India Sergio Gor on Wednesday said Indian companies are planning to invest over $20.5 billion in the United States across multiple sectors, highlighting a surge in bilateral economic engagement under President Donald Trump.“Under President Trump’s leadership investment is flowing back into the United States at record levels! Indian companies plan to invest over $20.5 billion in various sectors including tech, manufacturing, and pharmaceuticals,” Gor posted on X.He added that recent announcements reflect growing momentum, noting, “This includes the 12 Indian companies who announced $1.1 billion in investments just today.”“These partnerships are creating real American jobs and building stronger supply chains. Proof that when the world’s largest democracies do business together, everyone wins,” Gor added.

The announcement comes during the 2026 SelectUSA Investment Summit, where Indian firms have made a record number of investment commitments.US Under Secretary of Commerce for International Trade William Kimmitt said the scale of participation from Indian companies is unprecedented.“We have 12 Indian companies making investment announcements at this summit, totalling more than USD 1.1 billion,” he said, adding that this marks the highest number of announcements by a single delegation at the event.The surge in investment follows after recent high-level discussions between the two countries aimed at expanding bilateral trade to $500 billion by 2030.A day earlier, Gor had hinted at the development, calling it “massive new investments”. “BIG NEWS coming! Massive new investments from India are flowing into the United States at the 2026 #SelectUSASummit – the largest we’ve ever seen,” he posted on X.
