‘Don’t want to look 20 pounds heavier’: Trump jabs reports of wearing bulletproof vest during White House dinner attack

US President Donald Trump on Thursday brushed aside reports suggesting he may have been wearing a bulletproof vest following the attempted assassination at a White House Correspondents’ Dinner event.Speaking to reporters, Trump jokingly said that he doesn’t want to look ’20 pounds’ heavier. “I don’t know if I can handle looking 20 pounds heavier. These guys, they look so some of these guys, some of these guys are physical specimens,” he said.He added that while such precautions are sometimes considered, he did not support the idea of appearing overly protected.“I guess it’s something you consider. In one way, you don’t like to do it because you’re giving in to a bad element. I don’t know. But I have been asked about it,” Trump said.When asked whether he felt nervous about the possibility of another attack, Trump said he avoids thinking about it. “I don’t think about it,” he said.He added: “And if I did, I wouldn’t be doing a very good job here. I’d be thinking about nothing but that. I don’t think about it. I really I don’t think about it.
