Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh announce second pregnancy:  Actress's old comment on wanting THREE KIDS resurfaces - WATCH

Bollywood power couple, Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone on Sunday announced that they are expecting their second child.The couple shared a joint Instagram post, that saw their daughter, Dua, holding up mommy Deepika’s positive pregnancy test kit. The announcement quickly went viral, raking in over 4.1 million likes. Celebrities including Katrina Kaif, Anushka Sharma, Priyanka Chopra, Kareena Kapoor and many others took to the comments to congratulate the couple and send them their love.

When Deepika Padukone revealed her motherhood plans

Following the announcement, Padukone’s past remarks about motherhood and wanting a large family have resurfaced on social media. In a 2017 interview with Rajeev Masand, the actor had said, “The one thing I’ve got to do before I die is definitely have lots of babies. That’s what I want to do.”

In an earlier conversation with the journalist, Padukone had also reflected on life beyond acting, saying, “If I was not an actor, I don’t know what I would have been doing. But hopefully with some children around. Three little kids, scuttling about. Hopefully, be working enough to take them to shoots. Have a happy family. And at the same time, still doing what I am doing.”

The actress expressed similar sentiments on other occasions as well. During a conversation at the Cannes Film Festival with France24.com, she said she hoped for “many children, many grandchildren and a good life.” Singh and Padukone tied the knot in November 2018 in Italy. They welcomed their first child, Dua on September 8, 2024.

On the professional front, Singh has been ruling the box office with back-to-back blockbusters – ‘Dhurandhar’ and ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’. The films have so far scored an estiamted Rs 3,100 crore at the box office. Deepika, will soon be seen starring alongside Shah Rukh Khan in ‘King’. The film directed by Siddharth Anand is slated for a Christmas 2026 release. She will also be seen sharing screen space with Allu Arjun in the upcoming Atlee directorial, ‘Raaka’.
