Prabhas and Kajal Aggarwal’s superhit 2010 film ‘Darling’ has made a powerful return to theatres with its 4K re-release.The romantic comedy has opened to impressive numbers as it earned Rs 7.59 crore worldwide on its first day. With this, the film has become the second-highest opening Telugu re-release after ‘Baahubali: The Beginning’.Originally released on April 23, 2010, the Prabha starrerreturned in a restored 4K version on April 23 this year.

According to the latest estimates, ‘Darling’ has collected around Rs 10.44 crore gross worldwide in its first three days.As per Sacnilk, the film recorded a massive start through advance bookings. When sales opened on April 17, around 39,500 tickets were sold almost instantly. The film generated close to Rs 3 crore in advance booking gross before release.All-India advance sales for day 1 crossed Rs 2.8 crore. More than 2 lakh tickets were sold across over 1,300 shows. In Hyderabad alone, over 25,000 tickets were sold within hours.
‘Darling’ beats recent re-releases, enters top 5
The film has also outperformed other recent re-releases such as ‘Gabbar Singh’ 4K and ‘Khaleja’ 4K.Reports say that in comparison, the re-release of Prabhas’s ‘Salaar’ saw around 102,000 tickets sold. With its current performance, Darling has entered the top five all-time Telugu re-release ticket sales list. It has moved ahead of popular titles like Mahesh Babu’s ‘Athadu’ and ‘Businessman’.
