Shakira and Burna Boy have teamed up for “Dai Dai”, the official song of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.The song combines Afrobeats and Latin rhythms in a multilingual pop track. In one part of the song, the singers mention several football-playing nations.“Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina, Colombia,” Shakira sings. “Mexico, Japan, Korea, Netherlands.”After the first chorus, Shakira and Burna Boy sing separate verses before coming together again for a duet. The release comes days after FIFA announced that Shakira, Madonna and BTS will headline the tournament’s first final halftime show on July 19 at MetLife Stadium. The lineup was curated by Chris Martin of Coldplay. The halftime show will support the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, which aims to raise USD 100 million to help children access education and football.Last week, Shakira shared a teaser of “Dai Dai” on social media. In the clip, she was seen dancing at Maracanã Stadium while singing part of the opening verse.“Here in this place / You belong,” she sang. “What broke you once / Made you strong.”The World Cup will be co-hosted by United States, Canada and Mexico and will take place in June and July.
