GURGAON: A Class IX student of a private school allegedly died by suicide at her Rajiv Colony house on Wednesday night, police said on Friday.The 14-year-old girl was “under severe stress due to her studies”, according to investigators. She was anxious about an upcoming social science examination scheduled for Thursday, police said. No other incriminating material was found at the spot, Naharpar police outpost cops said.
During the inspection, police recovered a diary from the room, which is being treated as a suicide note. The family had shifted to the city from Lucknow in April last year. The note also mentioned that she felt isolated after shifting to Gurgaon and missed her earlier friend circle, indicating difficulty in adjusting to the new school environment. “At present, no foul play is suspected. The diary points towards academic pressure,” investigating officer Mahender said.The incident came to light on Thursday morning when her mother went to wake her up but received no response. Alarmed, she called her husband and peeped into the room through an AC window, where they found the girl hanging from the ceiling fan.
