Chirayu Rana’s father Chaitanya Rana has reacted to the row over his son and told New York Post that he was not aware of the sexual abuse case that Chirayu brought against JPMorgan executive Lorna Hajdini. But more interestingly, the Post found out that Chirayu claimed in mid-December 2024 that his father died and he took time off from work to be with his family. While Post cited sources for this information, they claimed they reached out to Chirayu’s family and found out that his father is alive and well. He said Chirayu did not tell anything about the case to them.“I don’t know anything about it. He didn’t talk with us or anything,” Chaitanya Rana told The Post. “He’s my son. He’s a good guy.”The report called Chirayu a liar and said he was allowed to work remotely when he informed his seniors that his father was seriously ill. He then exhausted a string of leave allowances between early March and the end of May last year, when an initial draft complaint was sent to the bank’s legal team, the report said citing people familiar with the matter. One source with direct knowledge of its contents said it read: “In or around November 2024, the plaintiff’s father passed away, and he went to his parents’ home in Virginia.” “The company thought he was working through something,” said one source. “You can tell that he was trying to play the system.”Attorney Greg Chiarello prepared the May 2024 document, which also claimed Rana’s mother, Baruna, was sick.Late 2025, Chirayu left JPMorgan and joined investment firm Bregal Sagemount and then left this job in April 2, 2026. Late April, 2026 he filed a civil lawsuit in New York County Supreme Court under the pseudonym “John Doe,” accusing executive director Lorna Hajdini, 37, of drugging him with Rohypnol and Viagra, coercing him into degrading sex acts, and threatening his career if he refused.JPMorgan disputed his claims and said Chirayu never reported to Hajdini.
