Brother kills teen over affair suspicion
In a disturbing turn of events in Patna’s Khusrupur region, a young man of 19 lost his life to his own elder brother, following a heated altercation. The tragic stabbing reportedly arose from jealousy and suspicion of a romantic connection between the victim and the brother’s wife. The incident occurred amidst wedding festivities, shortly after the victim’s return from Delhi.

Patna: A 19-year-old youth was allegedly stabbed to death by his elder brother in Lodipur Daniyalpur village under Khusrupur police station area of Patna district late Thursday night.Police said the murder was triggered by suspicion of an illicit relationship between the victim and the accused’s wife. The accused fled after the incident.The deceased, Shailesh Ravidas, had returned from Delhi—where he was engaged as a labourer—to attend a neighbour’s wedding. Police said Shailesh had allegedly eloped with his sister-in-law around two months ago, which had angered his elder brother, Shatrughan Ravidas.On Thursday night, while the family was engaged in wedding preparations, an argument broke out between the two brothers over the past incident. During the altercation, Shatrughan allegedly stabbed Shailesh multiple times in the abdomen with a sharp weapon.Family members rushed the critically injured youth to the PMCH, where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment due to excessive bleeding.Khusrupur SHO Sanjeev Kumar Singh said a case of murder has been registered against the accused, who is currently absconding. “Raids are being conducted at possible hideouts to nab him. Further investigation is underway,” he added.
